Hazing Prevention Week

September 8- 12, 2025

Cougs Don’t Haze. Let’s build a safer, stronger Cougar community together.

Hazing Prevention Week is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff across the WSU system to come together in support of a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus culture. Hazing, no matter how subtle or severe, undermines trust, belonging, and well-being. At WSU, we believe true community is built on support, not suffering.

Cougs take care of Cougs, and that includes knowing how to recognize hazing, refusing to participate, and taking action to prevent harm. Whether you're a student in a student organization or on a team, or a faculty or staff member supporting students in and out of the classroom, preventing hazing is everyone’s responsibility.

Throughout the week, we'll highlight resources, promote conversations, and provide tools that empower the WSU community to:

  • Understand what hazing is—and isn’t
  • Recognize warning signs
  • Report concerns safely and confidently
  • Support those impacted by hazing
  • Promote prevention and accountability

WSU recognizes Hazing Prevention Week earlier than the National Hazing Prevention Week based on our academic calendar.
